‘If there is an animal that I love and identify myself with, it’s the turtle,’ Marina Pallares confides. ‘That’s why I depict one in a posture of freedom, swimming in the sea, with its shell made of hearts.’ Working in black and white, the artist creates this charming, small-scale linoleum block print. Mexico is home to several endangered sea turtle species and is working toward their conservation.
